These are classically proportioned avons. Floats that can handle rivers that run wide, deep, fast and
rough. Crafted with ruggedness in mind so that they can cope with whatever conditions you may encounter they retain the sensitivity to indicate the quickest
bites.
They perform best when allowed to run through the swim at the pace of the water using bulked shot loads,
without any line checking.
The turned balsa bodies are set on stems of Tonkin cane and each float has a hand coiled brass wire line eye whipped to the stem base with fine silk thread, black in the case of the pear bodies, green silk on the barrel
bodied floats. Pictured here with neon orange, red or yellow tops, the sizes and approximate shot loadings are as follows:
